The Consolidated Mosquito Abatement District is authorized to treat and monitor unmaintained/neglected swimming pools on a regular basis to prevent the production of mosquitoes and the transmission of diseases such as West Nile virus. Please understand that the pool will remain in the condition that it is currently in and that our agency will not be cleaning or draining the pool. However, the pool will remain in our database and be monitored on a regular basis to protect the public from disease-carrying mosquitoes. If the pool has been stocked with mosquito fish, it is imperative that residents do not dump any chemicals in the pool that may kill the fish unless it is their intention to permanently maintain the pool.
